Category C includes cars that are not classified in categories D1 and D and whose maximum permissible mass exceeds 3,500 kg and which are intended and designed to carry no more than 8 passengers, excluding the driver.
Cars in this category can be coupled to trailers with a maximum permissible mass of no more than 750 kg.
Category C1. Category C1 includes motor vehicles not falling within categories D1 and D and having a maximum authorised mass exceeding 3 500 kg but not exceeding 7 500 kg and designed and constructed to carry no more than 8 passengers in addition to the driver. These motor vehicles may be coupled to trailers with a maximum authorised mass not exceeding 750 kg.
Category C1E. Category C1E includes combinations of category C1 vehicles and trailers with a maximum permissible mass exceeding 750 kg, as well as combinations consisting of a category B tractor and a trailer with a maximum permissible mass exceeding 3,500 kg. The maximum permissible mass of these combinations must not exceed 12,000 kg.
CE category. Category C includes combinations of category C cars and trailers with a maximum permissible mass exceeding 750 kg.
Maintaining C, CE category rights costs about 550 EUR. After maintaining C and CE categories, you will automatically receive C1 and C1E categories. The cost of maintaining C, CE categories includes 5 aspects, which are presented below:
Driving theory and practice learning. Unlike, for example, category B rights, category C, CE theory cannot be studied externally, it is necessary to attend theory courses in person or remotely. Theory learning for category C will last about 35 academic hours, for category CE – about 25 academic hours.
Most often, the price of theory lessons at driving schools is already included in the total price of practical (15 academic hours) and theoretical driving lessons, and in total these lessons cost from 450 EUR.
The state can compensate for training in categories C and CE and provide additional compensation during the training period. Then the cost of practical and theoretical lessons would be 0 EUR.

There are 2 general requirements and separate age requirements for category groups to obtain categories C, C1, C1E, CE. The 2 general requirements are presented below:
Previous categories. In order to obtain a driving license for categories C and C1, it is necessary to have previously obtained a driving license for category B, and in order to drive vehicles in categories C1E and CE, it is necessary to have previously obtained vehicles in categories C1 and C, respectively.
Required documents. In order to take the theory exam for categories C, C1, C1E, CE at "Regitra", you will be required to submit a medical certificate, a first aid course certificate, and an identity document.
C, CE categories. The minimum age from which it is allowed to acquire the right to drive is 21 years, except for persons who have acquired the initial professional qualification for the transport of goods in accordance with the established procedure. From the age of 18, you can acquire the right to drive vehicles of categories C, CE, if you have previously acquired the initial professional qualification for the transport of passengers in motor vehicles (8-week course).
Categories C1, C1E. The minimum age for obtaining the right to drive in categories C1, C1E is 18 years.
